Sister Angele Morin, OP a member of the Dominican Sisters of Hope died Sunday, July 19, at The Wartburg in Mount Vernon, New York. She was 95.

Sister Angele was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on March 12, 1914 to the late Joseph S. and Laura Thibault Morin. She entered the novitiate of the Dominican Sisters of Fall River in August 1932, made her First Profession in July 1934, and Final Profession in July 1937.

Sister Angele taught at St. Anne School in Fall River, St. Peter School in Plattsburgh, New York, and at St. Francis Xavier School in Acushnet, Massachusetts. From 1946-51 she was Mistress of Novices and a member of the local Council. In 1951 she moved to Mooers Forks, New York where she taught religious education classes at St. Ann’s Parish. While there she also conducted summer school classes in seven parishes and was sacristan at church. In 1963, she returned to Massachusetts and taught Grade 7 at St. Francis Xavier School for one year before moving to St. Anne School in Fall River. In 1970 Sister Angele was elected prioress of St. Catherine’s Convent (Park Street) and remained in that role until 1976, when she was assigned to the 4th grade at Dominican Academy. In 1977 she was appointed infirmarian and served in that role for several years as well as in pastoral care with the elderly and infirm sisters. In May 2002 she was welcomed to Residential Care at the Dominican Sisters of Hope Center in Newburgh, New York, and in 2009, she moved to The Wartburg in Mount Vernon, New York.
